Accessibility Statement

Last updated: [PLACEHOLDER: date pending]

We want everyone — including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or other assistive technology — to be able to use this website comfortably. This matters especially to us because many of the people we work with are older adults.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That standard covers things like readable text size and contrast, clear labels on forms, the ability to navigate the whole site using only a keyboard, and text alternatives for meaningful images.

What we've done

  • Body text is set at a comfortable reading size with generous spacing.
  • Text and background colors are checked against WCAG's contrast requirements.
  • Every form field has a real, visible label.
  • All buttons and links have a visible focus outline for keyboard navigation.
  • Meaningful images have descriptive text alternatives; purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • The background video on our home page can be paused, and it never plays with sound unless you turn it on.

Known limitations

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time fix. If you come across something on this site that's hard to use, we want to know.

Reporting a problem
